ReplyDeleteI have no trust in these "popular" Buddhist priests. These TV priests are entangled in politics and other worldly things. After some time even without their knowledge they end up with a huge ego, bigger than the lay people these priests preach over. Even Balangoda Ananda Mayithriya thero talked nonsense towards then end. Soma thero was a dry-fish (karawala) seller before he became a priest. He had no education. Once becoming a priest he started talking nonsense and was into religious extremism. We all know what happened to Pitiduwe Siridamma (now called Sumithra Badda) thero (or chiwaradaari). One day on Swarnawahini this Pitiduwe guy (yes, I don't consider them as real Buddhist priest) showed a photo which he said he took himself. There was a white light sort of thing in the photo. This guy said it is a photo of heaven (diviya loke). This is the level to which these so-called popular TV Buddhists have stooped to. The other guy in the
ReplyDeletephoto is Dodampahala Rahaula. He talks as if he has taken drinks or ganja.
He as an extremely rough unpleasant way of talking. Disgusting. Mirisse Dammika
also has a funny voice. He should not preach the Dhamma. Very unpleasant to the ear. The guy on the bottom right, Mawarelle Baddiya, I once saw in a protest outside the presidents house, shouting like a mad man, quite unbecoming of a Buddhist priest. When the lord Buddha has laid specific vinaya rules, where priests cannot talk even loud, this guy was shouting like a guy on drugs.
Galigamuwe Gnanadepa (ගලිගමුවේ ඤාණදීප ), the guy on the bottom center was
a priest was at Mahamewna Asapuwa. Then he wanted to be the head monk there and
even filed a case against Kiribathgoda ඤාණානන්ද thero. Imagine a Buddhist priest
going to court over another Buddhist priest. Kotugoda Dhammawsa, who is also
in this picture, says Buddhism is all about "Vegetarianism". It you are a
vegetarian, everything will be OK and you will attain enlightenment very quickly. Sri Lankan Buddhist priest are completely useless. I never listen
to them any more. If you want to know the real Buddhism, listen to
European Buddhist priests. Bhikku Bodhi, Ajahn Bram are 2 very popular
priests. Also very knowledgeable. Our fellows are no match for these real Buddhist priests.

මෙතන මම ගරුකරන එකම එක ස්වාමින් වහන්සේ තමයි කිරිබත්ගොඩ ඤාණානන්ද ස්වාමින් වහන්සේ. අනිත් ස්වාමින් වහන්සේල "ශ්‍රමණ වෙස් දාරීන්" හැටියට තමයි මන් පිළිගන්නේ.
